There are lots of thoughts and processes in preparing bamboo for creating fine craft products. Specifically, selected bamboo segments must be mature and large. Then its skin is peeled out in preparation for weaving. Furthurmore, bamboo must not be too old and too young and should have smooth surface to ensure that the color will come out smoothly and evenly during the dyeing process. If it is too thick, it might be difficult to weave. Or if it is too thin,
it may be too soft to use.
